Robert Kleindolph, today Kleindolph 50 years Robert and Lyla Kleindolph, 2812 Highway 22 East, Muscatine, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with, an open house from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at Walnut Park Baptist Church, 205 Colorado Muscatine. Lyla Kallenberger and Robert Kleindolph were married Dec. 24, 1955, in Wapello.

The couple's children are Teresa Theobald D.C. and husband John of Wapello, Sherry Kleindolph of Federal Way, Wash. and Mark Kleindolph of Tipton. They have two grandsons, Andrew Theobald, who is attending Iowa State University, and Geoffrey Theobald of Wapello. They have two miniature dachshunds, Molly and Patty: Both are retired from the Prime Mover Co.

Wedding Semsch Fitzer Donna Semsch and Herchal Fitzer, both of Durant, were united in marriage May 31, in Las Vegas. A celebration will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Durant Community Center, Durant; with dinner served from p.m. and a dance from p.m. All family and friends are invited.

Chairman Colette Bishop of Muscatine led the meeting which covered business items involving the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Each state president gave a presentation of programs and the membership chairmen with helpers performed a skit. Attendees to the meeting included national president Sandy Germany of Alabama and other national officers from across the nation. Department president of Iowa Kathy Schrieber of Columbus Junction, with the help of her line officers, presented a skit of the Auxiliary's Patriotic Act program and the joint VFW Voice of Democracy essay program. The election and installation of the 2006-07 officers concluded the convention.

Guests attending were Kevin Chard and Penny Fuhlman. Bob McConnaha served as toastmaster. Grammarian Lori Harvey introduced the word of the day "perspicuity" Jeff Bohling served as timer. Lynn Roddy served as general evaluator. Jay Thornton presented a speech titled "U505." Kris Curtis evaluated Thornton's speech.

Topic master Linda Clarkson presented topics to David Baker, Kevin Zeimet, Margaret Stych, Chard, Michelle Allen and Harvey. Chard and Harvey were voted best topic speakers for the day. The club meets at noon the first, third and fifth Tuesday of the month. Katie Ball would like to get flowers in November, she will let the flower committee know. Members discussed mission ideas for next year and decided to maybe talk about it in January chants and restaurants will kickoff the holiday season with a holiday open house from noon4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13. The event is sponsored by the Greater Downtown Muscatine Association.

30. There will be a table in the Narthex for about three weeks to add donations. Karen Schaub will help with this. The donations go to the food pantry. The group will have a hat and mitten tree.

Dorothy and Monica Rankin will take care of this. The tree will be set up in the Bible study area again. The items will be donated to Muscatine Strategic Action. School kits will be put together in February. Karen Schaub will coordinate bringing food, etc.
